Air Fryer Stuffing Stuffed Pigs In Duvets
Day 6 - Pigs In Blankets... a staple to every Christmas dinner table. The delicious little meaty parcels all wrapped up in a salty rasher of bacon. What more could anyone want on there table right? Nothing can beat a Pig In Blanket? Well I've gone not just one, but two steps further this year and my goodness you will not be disappointed. Introducing my Stuffing Stuffed Pigs In Duvets!
Pigs In Duvets I hear you all shout? Picture this, a sausage stuffed with cranberry sauce, stuffing, all wrapped up in bacon but then, also covered and tucked up in a piece of puff pastry? Yeah, they honestly taste as good as they sound.
To make this recipe you will need...
Ingredients
- Sausages
- Streaky Bacon
- Stuffing
- Cranberry Sauce
- Puff Pastry
Method
- Firstly make up your stuffing, whether you use a packet mix (Like myself) or make it from scratch it will need to be made up now and put to one side while we prepare the rest.
- Lay out a rasher of streaky bacon and place a sausage at one end, making a slit down the centre. Be careful not to cut right the way through or to the very ends. This will cause the filling to come out during cooking.
- Next put a layer of cranberry sauce through the sausage. next Starting at the end, wrap the sausage up in the bacon until complete encased. Now you want to wrap the stuffing around the pigs in blanket making sure it’s evenly coated. Place the pigs in blankets to one side while we prepare the pastry.
- Place the pastry down on a floured surface, taking one of the pigs in blankets roughly measure along the pastry for how much you will need to cover the sausage and cut into even rectangle.
- Taking the pigs in blankets wrap in the pastry and gently squeeze together at the seam. Place in the air fryer basket and cook for 15 minutes at 180 or until the pastry is a golden colour.
- Remove from basket and plate up. Serve with a pot of dipping gravy and enjoy!
So there you have it, my Stuffing Stuffed Pigs In Duvets. Perfect for this time of year, super fun, quick and easy to make and a delight to devour. Why not add a few chestnut to the stuffing to give a little extra crunch.
