Mum's Festive Christmas Coffee
Day 13 - I've been invited to a friends this evening for festive drinks and nibbles and guess what I’ve been put in charge of? I've been asked to be in charge of my mums famous festive coffee! This was always a firm favourite when I was little at our Christmas parties or when friends just pop over for a cuppa and catch up during the festive season. I can remember like it was yesterday, one of my parents friends always slipping away into the kitchen and coming back with a steaming hot cup of her coffee. I’m surprised she could walk home at the end of the party!
This recipe if pack full of all the naughty but nice things..... a rich coffee with a tipple or 2 of your favourite alcoholic beverage topped with whipped cream and cocoa powder...honestly, what's not to like!
To make this drink you will need...
Ingredients
- Coffee Of Your Choice
- Demerara sugar
- Milk Or Coffee Whitener
- Alcohol Of Your Choice
- Spray Cream
Method
- First upset your coffee in the coffee make to start brewing. This is the coffee I use but feel free to use instant and pop the kettle on at this point.
- In your cup add your sugar or sweetener if you have it, followed by a dash of which ever alcohol you choose and stir to combine.
- Once the coffee has brewed , pour into the cup and add your milk, whitener and stir.
- Finally top with spray cream and a dusting of cocoa powder.
So there you have it, my Christmas Festive Coffee. Perfect for this time of year. There are a number of things you can do to change this recipe up a little. Instead of using coffee you could use a rich hot chocolate, or caffeine free coffee. Swap the alcohol for a juice like orange juice. Why not forget about the spray cream and whip up some real cream to top it off with chocolate shavings.
If you make this drink, why not send me a picture on Instagram using the #acountrygirlskitchen so I can go over and show it some love.
I hope you all have a wonderful day.
