Nutella Hot Coffee

Nutella Hot Coffee

Good evening to all those who find themselves reading this. It's officially the 1st of December which means it's the start of A Country Countdown To Christmas. During the month of December, you will find a fun and festive recipe each and every day up until the 24th. Ranging from drinks to treats, meals to snacks and sacksful of fun along the way. So turn on your Christmas lights, tie up those aprons, get out those mixing bowls and get ready for 24 days of Christmas cooking and baking magic.

Day One - Today we start with Nutella Hot Coffee. A luxuriously creamy, rich hug in a mug that's perfectly nutty for this time of year. So what better way to relax an unwind than coming home from work, lighting the fire, pulling the curtains, lighting a few candles and snuggling under a big, cosy blanket with a mug of my Nutella Hot Coffee. It's so quick to make I hadn't finished licking the Nutella of the spoon by the time it was ready!

This beautiful drink is not only warming, rich and fully of flavour but also gives you those festive warming feels.

To make this creamy, nutty drink you will need...

Ingredients

  • 500ml Full Fat Milk (I'm a Semi Skimmed kind of girl but this drink calls for something extra indulgent)
  • 4tbsp Nutella
  • 2tsp Coffee (powder or granules work)
  • 1tsp Sugar (optional, but I find the Nutella is sweet enough)
  • Whipped Cream (Squirty cream from a can is what I tend to use)
  • Marshmallows
  • Extra Cocoa Powder

Method

  1. Gently heat all the ingredient in a medium sized sauce pan over a medium heat until it comes to the boil. Be careful not to over heat as this will cause your milk to burn and let me tell you talking from experience a milk burnt pan is a nightmare to clean!
  1. Remove the pan from the heat and froth the mixture if you have a frother.
  2. Pour the coffee into the serving mugs.
  1. Topping with whipped cream, Mini Marshmallows and a dusting of cocoa powder or coffee powder. At this point you can keep adding your favourite toppings like chocolate chips, chopped hazelnuts, extra Nutella drizzle, the list is endless.

So there you have it, my rich and creamy Nutella Hot Coffee. Perfect for this time of year. I have to admit, after writing this post I will be making it again this evening after a cold and busy day at work.

If you make this drink, why not send me a picture on Instagram using the #acountrygirlskitchen so I can go over and show it some love.

I hope you all have a wonderful day.
