To create the perfect loaded potatoes, gather these ingredients:
Ingredients
- Packet of shop bought roast potatoes
- Turkey, shredded
- A wedge of brie
- Pigs in blankets (If not cocktail sausages and bacon rounds work just as well)
- Stuffing balls
- Baby carrots
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Optional toppings for added variety:
- Gravy
- Cranberry Sauce
These ingredients form a classic base, offering ample room for customisation according to your taste preferences.
Method
- Begin by preheating your oven to 200°C (180°C fan) or Gas Mark 6. As the oven heats, prepare your toppings: slice the brie, roll the bacon, shred the turkey.
- Lightly toss the potatoes with a bit of olive oil and sprinkle with salt to enhance the flavour.
- Once prepped, place the potatoes directly on the middle shelf of the preheated oven. Turning down to 180°C, and bake for about 15 minutes, or until tender when pierced with a fork.
- Once cooked, remove the potatoes from the oven and top with the stuffing balls, pigs in blankets, shredded turkey and carrots placing back into the oven to cook for a further 15-20 minutes.
- Finally add the brie and cook one final time for around 5 minutes until the cheese is gooey and melted.
- When ready to serve, arrange your festive loaded potatoes into a large serving platter for an inviting presentation. Additionally, consider offering a variety of optional toppings such as a jug of gravy or tangy cranberry sauce.
These loaded potatoes make a versatile accompaniment to a wide range of Christmas dishes. For a vegetarian option, they complement a variety of plant-based dishes beautifully. Steamed vegetables can provide a refreshing contrast to the richness of the potatoes.
